Cabinetry and walls are flush to give an elegant, architectural feel
The brief
The family of five wanted a contemporary kitchen which would be the heart of the home, but it had to sit perfectly within the property's semi-rural surroundings. We decided "Sophisticated Farmhouse" aptly described the look and feel we needed to achieve.
How we unlocked the scheme
The key to the remodel was the installation of 4 panel crittal style doors.
Previously the sink and main storage cupboards ran along this wall with the sink overlooking a window. We removed the window and opened up the wall giving direct access from the kitchen to the garden through French doors.
The coffee station and drinks unit appear built into the walls because the walls were actually built out to achieve that look. New coving and a whole room paint job to match cabinets to wall colour makes these big units blend in seamlessly.
Before renovation
The coffee and drinks station were two fridges
The sink overlooked a window, now Crittal doors
The kitchen island was small and curved
The floor completely protected and UFH preserved
